Choose PREMIUM when finished quality is the priority

PREMIUM is designed for the softest possible hand and excellent color reproduction, with particularly strong red output. Its 250°F workflow reduces heat exposure and keeps the marry and garment-application stages at the same temperature and similar timing.

Why Print Shops Choose iColor™ Premium 2-Step Transfer Media

Screen-Print-Like Hand

The finished transfer is engineered to feel softer and more integrated with the garment than heavier transfer films.

Excellent Color Reproduction

A bright white adhesive system supports vivid output, including strong reds and demanding brand colors.

Low 250°F Workflow

Lower-temperature pressing broadens garment options and reduces the risk of scorching or melting many synthetics.

Up to 100 Washes

PREMIUM carries the highest stated wash-durability rating among these four iColor™ textile media families.

Best Applications

  • Premium branded apparel and retail garments
  • Soft-hand fashion graphics
  • Heat-sensitive polyester, nylon and blends
  • Jobs requiring the strongest color reproduction
  • Dark garments requiring opacity
  • Customers prioritizing long-term wash durability

Professional, Weed-Free Production

Print detailed logos, small lettering, gradients and full-color artwork without contour cutting or manually removing excess transfer film.

For the softest and most breathable result, rasterize larger solid areas and allow the garment color to become part of the design.

How the iColor™ Premium 2-Step Transfer Media Process Works

This is a simplified overview. Always follow the current instructions for the exact media size, printer and garment.

Print the Opaque A-Sheet

Mirror-print on the labeled printing side using the iColor™ PREMIUM print mode and correct white-toner setup.

Prepare and Marry

Place the adhesive B-Sheet face-to-face with the image, remove trapped air as instructed, and marry at approximately 250°F for 30 seconds.

Hot Peel

Keep the sheets on the heated lower platen and immediately separate the adhesive sheet in one smooth, quick motion.

Apply, Cool and Fix

Press the prepared transfer to the garment at approximately 250°F for 30 seconds, cool fully, peel and complete the fixing press.

Times and temperatures are manufacturer starting points, not universal settings. Actual results vary with the printer, heat press, artwork, toner coverage, garment and environment.

Printer Compatibility and Starting Media Settings

Designed for iColor™ specialty printers and compatible with many color laser printers. White-toner capability is recommended for the best results, particularly on dark garments. Always confirm that the printer supports the selected media size and weight.

Production Tips for Better Transfers

  • PREMIUM uses a matched opaque transfer sheet and adhesive sheet sold as a set. Never print on or feed the adhesive sheet through the printer.
  • Preheat the lower platen thoroughly. Consistent heat and medium-high pressure are critical to a clean A/B marry and peel.
  • Dense, full-coverage artwork can be more difficult to separate. Rasterization improves softness and breathability and can simplify production.
  • Allow the garment to cool completely before peeling, then complete the required fixing press for maximum durability.

Recommended Garment Care

Wash Inside Out

Use cold or warm water with low agitation to reduce abrasion against the printed surface.

Avoid Fabric Softener

Softener chemistry can prematurely reduce transfer durability and adhesion.

Dry on Low

Tumble dry on a low setting; hanging the garment to dry is preferred for maximum longevity.

Protect When Ironing

Never place a hot iron directly on the transfer. Cover it with heat-transfer kraft paper first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose PREMIUM instead of SELECT or STANDARD?

Choose PREMIUM when you want the lowest standard press temperature, softest hand, strongest color reproduction and highest stated wash durability.

Can PREMIUM be used on polyester and nylon?

Its 250°F workflow makes it a strong option for many heat-sensitive synthetics, but every garment and coating should still be tested before production.

Does PREMIUM require a laminator?

The current manufacturer instructions include a heated-laminator preparation step before marrying to help remove air and improve adhesive transfer. Follow the latest instructions for your workflow.

How durable is PREMIUM?

The manufacturer states up to approximately 100 washes when the transfer is correctly printed, married, applied, fixed and laundered.

Important Heat-Press and Workplace Safety

Operate the printer and heat press in a suitable, well-ventilated workspace. Heated platens, hot media and freshly pressed garments can cause burns.

  • Use heat-resistant gloves when the instructions require separating hot sheets on the press.
  • Follow all equipment manuals, product instructions and applicable Safety Data Sheets. Never leave heated equipment unattended.

The operator is responsible for press calibration, ventilation, PPE, safe procedures and testing the complete printer-media-garment combination.
