The MagicLine™ DTF Hack lets you create full-color garment transfers using a compatible sublimation or pigment inkjet printer—without operating a conventional CMYK + white-ink DTF printer.
MagicLine™ Transfer Sheets, MagicPowder™ and MagicSeal™ Fusion work together to provide adhesion, an optional opaque white backing and enhanced wash durability.
Use a compatible sublimation printer and sublimation ink to produce DTF-style transfers for cotton and other garments beyond traditional light-polyester sublimation.
White or Soft White MagicPowder™ can provide the opaque backing needed for colored, dark and black garments.
Use a compatible desktop inkjet printer with pigment-based CMYK inks to create full-color garment transfers without converting the printer to DTF ink.
There is no white ink in the printer and no white-ink circulation, agitation or maintenance.
Patent-pending White and Soft White MagicPowder™ create both the adhesive layer and an opaque backing behind the CMYK image, allowing compatible transfers to remain visible on colored, dark and black garments.

Sublimation and desktop pigment printers normally print CMYK only. On a dark garment, those colors require an opaque backing or they become difficult to see.
White and Soft White MagicPowder™ are designed to provide that backing without requiring white ink inside the printer.

Print the mirrored design onto the appropriate MagicLine™ Transfer Sheet using the compatible workflow for your printer and ink type.
Apply the appropriate Clear, Soft White or White MagicPowder™, remove the excess powder and cure it using the recommended method.
Heat press the transfer, peel it according to the product instructions and complete the MagicSeal™ Fusion finishing process.
A DTF Hack transfer may initially look excellent but lose color rapidly if the printed pigments or dyes are not adequately protected.
When produced, finished and laundered according to the recommended instructions, compatible transfers using MagicSeal™ Fusion may achieve up to 50+ wash durability.
Slick transfer media can be difficult for some desktop printer rollers to grip. Certain printers may also fail to recognize the transparent or semi-transparent leading edge of the sheet.
FeedAssist sheets include an integrated paper leader that provides a more familiar leading edge for compatible pickup rollers and media sensors. Bottom-tray printers are more likely to require feed assistance, while top- or rear-feed printers typically feed transfer sheets more easily.
The pigment inkjet DTF Hack works with the compatible Canon® and Epson® models listed below using their existing pigment-based CMYK inks. No DTF ink conversion, white ink or printer modification is required.
All four ink colors must be pigment-based. Compatibility is determined by the installed ink formulation—not simply by the printer brand or family.

The cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks must all be pigment-based. A printer that uses pigment black but dye-based color inks is not compatible. Dye-based office printers should not be assumed to work with this process.
The models above apply only to the pigment inkjet DTF Hack. For the sublimation DTF Hack, use a compatible printer configured with suitable sublimation ink and select the products and instructions specifically intended for sublimation printing.
Use an approved pigment-based CMYK printer or a compatible printer configured for the separate sublimation workflow.
The workflow requires compatible Transfer Sheets, the appropriate MagicPowder™ and MagicSeal™ Fusion for finishing and improved wash durability.
A compatible curing station or heat station and a heat press are required. Consumables-only kits do not include the printer or production equipment unless specifically stated.
Results and transfer yield vary with artwork size, ink coverage, setup sheets, test prints, production technique and the complete printer, ink, media, powder, curing, pressing, finishing and laundering process.
Operate in a well-ventilated workspace. Local exhaust ventilation or suitable fume extraction is recommended during powder application, curing, heat pressing and other DTF processes.
The user is responsible for appropriate ventilation, workplace controls, protective equipment, safe operating procedures and compliance with applicable health, safety and environmental requirements.
