Choose the Right Solution for the Task
Each formula serves a specific purpose. Cleaning, capping, preservation, and external residue treatment require different solutions; they should not be used interchangeably.
Cleaning Solution - Minor Clogs & Routine Flushing
Helps loosen ink deposits that contribute to minor printhead clogs. Use the appropriate flushing procedure for compatible damper or continuous ink supply (CIS) systems. For compatible cartridge-based printers, load into model-specific cleaning cartridges and follow the prescribed cleaning cycle procedure.
Do not use for wet capping.
XTREME Cleaning Solution - Stubborn Buildup & Ink-Line Flushing
For persistent ink-related clogs or flushing residual ink from compatible tubing, including during an approved ink changeover. Apply using the appropriate printhead flushing method for damper/CIS systems or compatible cleaning cartridges where permitted.
Do not use for wet capping. Apply gently and never force fluid through a blocked printhead.
Capping Solution - Daily Wet Capping
Use to wet the printhead resting cap as directed during end-of-day care. This dedicated solution helps maintain moisture at the capped nozzle area during short periods of inactivity.
Not intended for cleaning or unclogging. For extended planned downtime, use Maintenance Solution according to the applicable Vacation Mode procedure.
Maintenance Solution - Vacation Mode Preparation
Helps keep printhead passages lubricated and preserve the printhead's existing condition during planned inactivity. Begin with a properly functioning printhead and a satisfactory nozzle test. Address clogs or missing nozzles before preparing the printhead for storage.
This solution does not clean, unclog, or repair printheads.
De-Plasticizing Solution - External Solidified Ink Treatment
Apply with a cleaning swab to solidified ink on approved external areas around the printhead, capping station, or wiper blade, following the product directions.
Do not pour or inject this solution into the capping station or printhead channels. Do not use for flushing or wet capping.
For Compatible Damper/CIS & Cartridge-Based Systems
Follow the procedure appropriate to your printer's ink delivery system. Cartridge-based cleaning requires the correct model-specific cleaning cartridges, which are sold separately and are not included in this kit.
Compatibility & Care: Confirm compatibility with your printer, printhead, and ink chemistry before use. Follow the applicable solution and printer maintenance directions, keep fluids away from electrical components, and use gentle, controlled pressure. Cleaning results depend on the cause and severity of the blockage; cleaning solutions cannot repair physical or electrical printhead damage.
