Start with the coverage you already have
Roland’s general inkjet warranty describes a one-year term from delivery for eligible products purchased from Roland or an authorized dealer. Model-specific benefits and registration offers may add coverage. Confirm your actual dates using the purchase documents and Roland’s device record.
Register promptly and keep proof of purchase. Do not assume that a paid extension starts on the day you buy it: existing coverage and the accepted contract determine the dates.
| Coverage type | What it is for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer warranty | Qualifying defects in the eligible hardware during its warranty term. | Model, registration, purchase eligibility and recorded expiration. |
| Extended service contract | Continued eligible repair coverage after existing coverage. | Accepted term, covered printer, location and exclusions. |
| Software or care bundle | The specific subscription or maintenance items purchased separately. | Itemized contents, software duration and activation requirements. |
Keep manufacturer-backed service in your plans
Your printer is part of how you deliver for customers. An extended contract can help turn eligible repair expenses into a planned service investment. The listed plans include required parts, repair labor and technician travel for covered repairs, with service subject to eligibility and location.
Choose the plan for your exact model and arrange it while current coverage is valid. Roland determines which devices may participate. If coverage has lapsed, ask for review before ordering; backdating, prorating or other reinstatement conditions may apply if accepted.
- Match the equipment: each plan is tied to the identified printer. Other machines and accessories need their own coverage.
- Choose the available term: model-specific listings offer different options. The selected extension is not the same as total lifetime coverage.
- Confirm the dates: obtain the accepted start/end dates and any conditions in writing.
- Keep software separate: a multi-year service term does not automatically provide multi-year DG Connect access.
For the BN2 models in our catalog, Roland’s listings limit total coverage to three years. Several other listed models allow extensions within five years of installation. Eligibility must be checked for the specific device.
Care for your printer throughout coverage
A service contract supports qualifying repairs; it does not replace proper operation. Follow your model’s instructions for cleaning, maintenance, media loading, storage and operating conditions. Keep records that can help establish how the equipment has been maintained.
Ink requirements matter
Roland’s extended-service terms require exclusive Roland DG ink use during service periods and state that non-Roland ink use disqualifies a device from contract coverage. Ink-purchase records may be requested. Repairs caused by ink not certified and approved by Roland are excluded, subject to applicable law.
Arrange service through the authorized route. Damage associated with unauthorized service or added third-party components may fall outside coverage. Do not remove or alter product identification or serial-number labels.
How to request service
1. Open a support request
For a Roland printer purchased from DTGPRO, contact us through support.dtgpro.com and describe what has changed.
2. Help us diagnose it
Provide the error message, clear photos/video and the requested checks. Keep your purchase and coverage records available.
3. Follow the service instructions
The next step may involve further troubleshooting or coordination with an authorized service provider. Wait for shipping or repair instructions.
Have these details ready: order/invoice number, model, serial number, delivery/install date, coverage expiration, service address, contact information and a clear description of the issue.
The general warranty allows on-site or return-to-center service depending on the product. Location restrictions apply, including the stated exclusion for service beyond 200 miles from the nearest authorized dealer or outside Roland’s sales territories. Confirm your service arrangement before purchase or relocation.
If the issue cannot be resolved by phone with the dealer, Roland’s standard warranty also requires prompt written notice to Roland. Keep a copy of your communications. Roland’s published contact number is 800-542-2307.
Understand the boundaries of coverage
Qualifying hardware repairs
Roland evaluates defects and determines the appropriate warranty remedy. The standard warranty allows repair using new or used parts, or replacement as specified in its terms. Replacement parts ordinarily carry the remaining original warranty term. Replaced items become Roland’s property.
Costs outside the plan
Non-covered work, or a reported fault that cannot be found or reproduced, may be billed on a time-and-materials basis. Ask for the applicable charges before approving work outside coverage.
- Routine care and wear: maintenance, consumables, user-level calibration and worn-out/end-of-life parts are excluded.
- Printheads: coverage depends on the failure. Head strikes, misuse, neglect, accidents, modification and worn-out printheads are excluded under the service terms.
- Software and accessories: computer issues, software, consumables and non-covered peripherals are not part of the printer hardware contract.
- Damage rather than a covered defect: improper use, inadequate maintenance, incorrect media loading, unsuitable storage, unauthorized service and events such as flood, fire or improper electrical supply may be excluded.
- Business losses: no repair deadline, loaner machine or uninterrupted production is promised. Roland’s warranty limits remedies and excludes specified consequential losses, subject to law.
The standard warranty’s territory is North and South America, excluding Brazil, for eligible products purchased and used there. A service contract’s actual sales and service availability may be narrower. Confirm your address and jurisdiction. Warranties and service contracts are non-transferable under Roland’s stated terms.
Common questions
Are printheads covered?
Do not assume every printhead problem qualifies. Roland evaluates the failure under the applicable warranty and contract. Its service terms exclude damage from head strikes, misuse, neglect, accidents or modification, and exclude parts—including printheads—that have worn out or reached the end of their lifecycle. Routine cleaning or maintenance is not a covered repair.
What is the difference between a service contract, DG Connect and a Care Pack?
The service contract addresses eligible hardware repairs. A paid DG Connect bundle provides specified software tools for its own subscription period. A Care Pack is a separately defined package that may contain maintenance items or another stated benefit. The exact contents must be itemized; choosing one does not automatically include the others.
Does a two- or three-year contract include software for the same length of time?
Not necessarily. The Premium bundles on these listings describe one year of software access even when hardware coverage is longer. BN2 Deluxe subscriptions must be confirmed on the order; the BN2-20 bundled-product title specifies one year. Match the software entitlement to the order confirmation, not just the hardware contract term.
Can I buy a plan after my coverage expires?
Contact DTGPRO before purchasing. Acceptance is not automatic. Roland’s general contract terms discuss backdating and prorating accepted lapsed coverage, while the model listings require active coverage. Obtain written confirmation of eligibility, any inspection or reinstatement requirements, charges and dates for your specific device.
Are there notification deadlines?
Report problems promptly during coverage. If an issue cannot be resolved by phone through the dealer, Roland’s standard inkjet warranty requires prompt written notice to Roland. Its stated standard-warranty deadlines include receipt of notice within 13 months of delivery and filing a warranty action within 18 months. These are not a summary of extended-contract deadlines; consult the applicable documents and mandatory law.
