Choose SELECT for dependable, cost-conscious everyday production

SELECT offers a matte finish, strong adhesive performance and good stretch at a lower cost than the premium system. It is a practical workhorse for shops producing routine logos, team apparel, promotional garments and personalized orders.

Why Print Shops Choose iColor™ Select 2-Step Transfer Media

Strong Translucent Adhesive

The two-step adhesive layer improves garment bonding, durability and stretch while supporting detailed artwork.

Matte Appearance

A low-sheen finish gives logos and graphics a clean, professional look.

No Cutting or Weeding

Only toner-printed areas receive adhesive, saving time on detailed artwork and small lettering.

Everyday Value

A strong balance of quality, durability and operating cost for regular production work.

Best Applications

  • Everyday transfers on light and dark garments
  • Teamwear, promotional apparel and work shirts
  • Detailed logos and personalized graphics
  • Shops balancing quality and consumable cost
  • Matte-finish transfers
  • Rasterized artwork designed for added softness

Professional, Weed-Free Production

Print detailed logos, small lettering, gradients and full-color artwork without contour cutting or manually removing excess transfer film.

For the softest and most breathable result, rasterize larger solid areas and allow the garment color to become part of the design.

How the iColor™ Select 2-Step Transfer Media Process Works

This is a simplified overview. Always follow the current instructions for the exact media size, printer and garment.

Print the A-Sheet

Mirror-print the design on the rough, coated side of the transparent transfer sheet using the correct SELECT print mode.

Marry A and B

Place the adhesive side of the B-Sheet face-to-face with the printed image and press at approximately 310°F for 120 seconds.

Hot Peel

Keep the sheets on the heated lower platen and separate them immediately in one slow, low and fluid motion.

Press, Cool and Finish

Press to the garment for the fabric-appropriate time and temperature, cool completely, peel, then complete the required fixing press.

Printer Compatibility and Starting Media Settings

Designed for iColor™ specialty printers and compatible with many color laser printers. White-toner capability is recommended for the best results, particularly on dark garments. Always confirm that the printer supports the selected media size and weight.

Production Tips for Better Transfers

  • Fully preheat the lower platen before marrying the sheets. A cool lower platen is a common cause of incomplete adhesive transfer.
  • SELECT's standard 310°F marry temperature requires care with heat-sensitive synthetics. Spandex and Lycra are not recommended at that temperature.
  • For polyester and blends, follow the lower garment-application temperatures in the current instructions to reduce dye migration and heat damage.
  • Rasterizing the artwork improves breathability, softness and stretch while making dense transfers easier to process.

Recommended Garment Care

Wash Inside Out

Use cold or warm water with low agitation to reduce abrasion against the printed surface.

Avoid Fabric Softener

Softener chemistry can prematurely reduce transfer durability and adhesion.

Dry on Low

Tumble dry on a low setting; hanging the garment to dry is preferred for maximum longevity.

Protect When Ironing

Never place a hot iron directly on the transfer. Cover it with heat-transfer kraft paper first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the A- and B-Sheets sold and used together?

Yes. SELECT is a matched two-step set containing a translucent transfer sheet and adhesive sheet. Do not substitute unrelated A- or B-Sheets.

Is SELECT suitable for dark garments?

Yes. It is designed for light and dark textiles and is especially useful for dark garments when printed with the appropriate white-toner layer.

What makes SELECT different from STANDARD?

SELECT emphasizes everyday value, a matte texture and strong translucent adhesive. STANDARD uses a white adhesive layer for stronger opacity and color enhancement.

How durable is SELECT?

The manufacturer states approximately 30–50 washes when correctly printed, married, applied, fixed and laundered.

Important Heat-Press and Workplace Safety

Operate the printer and heat press in a suitable, well-ventilated workspace. Heated platens, hot media and freshly pressed garments can cause burns.

  • Use heat-resistant gloves when the instructions require separating hot sheets on the press.
  • Follow all equipment manuals, product instructions and applicable Safety Data Sheets. Never leave heated equipment unattended.

The operator is responsible for press calibration, ventilation, PPE, safe procedures and testing the complete printer-media-garment combination.
